The Institute is devoted to better understanding America’s small business owners. Since its inception, it has conducted innovative research that highlights the multifaceted dimensions of America’s 27 million small businesses through The Guardian Life Index, an ongoing research initiative based on a new, proprietary research methodology. The Institute has uncovered insights about the small business community including: small business owners’ views on financial matters, growth and retirement, as well as the key factors that drive success and the impact women small business owners will have on the economy. Most recently, The Institute identified six steps small business owners can take to improve revenues despite economic challenges. In addition, The Institute provides thoughtful insights and observations, as well as video interviews and podcasts with influential members of the small business community on business trends and issues through the Small Bizdom website.
