The Empowerment Experiment is the extension of a year long study undertaken by Maggie Anderson and her family. The family sought and supported only Black-owned businesses as a support to those in struggling and overlooked communities. The study lasted a year, documented in the book Our Black Year, and is now a resource site for supporting small businesses. The site addresses the economic shift of dollars outside traditional African American communities
Contributions
