Gary Harpst co-founded Solomon Software, which ultimately was acquired by Microsoft. Based on his own successes and stumbles in growing a business from a startup, he founded Six Disciplines in September 2001 to provide coaching and training for small businesses. The company provides a holistic framework for continual business process improvement, based on best-practices for small businesses.
The "Six Disciplines Methodology" involves six fundamental disciplines: strategy, planning, organizing, executing, innovating, and organizational learning - each having a series of steps.
Included is software to help plan and achieve goals, married with education. Together they are designed to help businesses learn how to communicate, collaborate, and perform better.
Contributions
Six Disciplines teaches SMB owners how to avoid stalling or stumbling as they grow. It also helps them implement systems and processes for repeatable and sustainable success.
