The Campaign for Free Enterprise promotes the free enterprise system, which empowers small business owners and will enable economic growth and job creation. The Bureau of Labor reported that small businesses created 65 percent of net new jobs between 1993 and 2009. Accordingly, CFE works to educate the public about the importance of small businesses and entrepreneurs.
CFE engages with small businesses in two major ways: it advocates for small businesses in the court of public opinion and in government; and it has built a community of small business owners and their employees, advocates, and entrepreneurs that come together to learn from each other and to promote their common interests.
CFE is a project of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest business federation. More than 96% of U.S. Chamber members are small businesses with 100 employees or less.
Contributions
CFE promotes free enterprise in the court of public opinion and in D.C. Last year, the campaign built a software application to let its small business community email their congressional candidates. Then, it launched the Center for Entrepreneurship, the first organization that advocates for entrepreneurs in D.C.
