Before joining CompTIA in July 2008, Thibodeaux spent more than 17 years with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), where he served in a wide range of roles culminating as its senior vice president of industry relations.
Thibodeaux is a life-long IT and tech enthusiast dating back to his very early years. The son of an electrical and mechanical engineer, Thibodeaux's love of technology continues to this day and he has infused CompTIA with a renewed sense of enthusiasm for the industry the organization represents.

Todd reinforces a number of CompTIA's public advocacy initiatives by lending his time, energy and voice to help shine the spotlight on many worthwhile causes. In the last year, Todd offers has offered his support to the following SMB entrepreneur causes: advancing greater access to capital, a tax code that is fair for information technology SMBs, extending the payroll tax reduction to small businesses, introducing legislation to extend annual payroll tax reporting to all small businesses re-instating the 2011 Section 179 small business expensing limits, simplicity and fairness in interstate taxation legislation, a small business exemption within remote sellers legislation, the Digital Goods and Services Tax Fairness Act of 2011, the Business Activity Tax Simplification Act of 2011 and extending equity to the Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract program by eliminating the requirement that “two or more” women-owned businesses submit bids in order to invoke the program.
