Prior to founding BUMI, Walzer spent her career helping organizations, from start ups to Fortune 1000 companies, with their back office systems and online web presence. Walzer also successfully launched and sold a software development company focused on developing Interactive Voice Response Systems for Multi-Employer Benefit Funds.
BUMI received a New York Enterprise Report Small Business Award for Human Resources and Leadership. This award recognized Walzer and her team’s unique approach to leadership as well as BUMI's growth-oriented work environment.
In 2010, Walzer was selected as a winner in the "Best Entrepreneur" category while BUMI was chosen as a finalist for "Best Overall Company of the Year" category in the 7th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
Walzer has taken her success and experience and used it as an opportunity to give back to the community, often providing advice and guidance for young entrepreneurs. She has also judged the GSEA competition for college entrepreneurs and spoke to business students at Baruch College and Columbia University about building a business.
