As the founder and President of 5th Gear Consulting, Helena Hauk has significantly impacted the Central Texas Economy. Since launching in 2009 she has facilitated over $70 million in SBA loans to area small businesses, resulting in new jobs and economic development. Passionate about empowering business owners, Helena teaches workshops and writes articles educating business owners and professionals on SBA programs, leadership, strategic growth planning, and other business skills. Her commitment to small business and work with the SBA earned her the distinction of SBA Small Business Champion in 2011 for the San Antonio District. Active in local professional groups, Helena was also named CREW Innovator of the Year for her work raising scholarships for aspiring real estate professionals. In fact, under her leadership, the committee met and exceeded their target amount, so they added new scholarships this year.
Injection of $70 million of SBA funds into area small businesses, resulting directly in over 150 new jobs within injected business as well as in those companies affected by the construction and development.

She serves as a mentor to young women, inspiring more women to go into business for themselves, while cultivating a network of professionals focused on small business growth and community. She has also doubled her own workforce this year, a sign of even greater things to come.
