Matt Cutts, the head of Google's Webspam team, joined Google as a software engineer in 2002. One of Matt's first projects at Google was the company's family filter called SafeSearch. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Graphics from the University of North Carolina, an M.S. from UNC-Chapel Hill, and B.S. degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Kentucky.

Matt's blog, called "Matt Cutts: Gadgets, Google and SEO" provides a wealth of information about SEO and is considered as one of the best blogs about the subject.

Matt Cutts, as the head of Google's Webspam team, focuses on educating the public (a large majority of them comprised of small business owners) about the best SEO practices, giving advice and guidance to hundreds of thousands of people.
