Parsons' first endeavor was Parsons Technology; in 1994 he sold the company for $64 million dollars. In 1997, Parsons started Jomax Technologies. He renamed the company GoDaddy.com in 1999.
Parsons is an award-winning business leader. In March 2011, he received the Celebrity Fight Night Muhammad Ali Entrepreneur Award. In April 2010, his alma mater honored him as The University of Baltimore Distinguished Entrepreneur. Parsons was also presented with an honorary doctorate in Humane Letters in 2008.
