Brent is involved in the national startup scene, serving on the advisory board of Startup Missouri; he recently joined Gen Y Capital Partners, a $30 million venture capital tech fund based out of NYC, as a venture partner.
Brent is the founder of the League of Innovators, which is a 16,000-sq. ft. co-working space and entrepreneurial incubator; he is involved in a number of nonprofits as a board member, including the Heart of Missouri United Way and the Community Foundation of Central Missouri. Brent’s efforts in launching the Joplin, MO Tornado Recovery Facebook page and raising $2 million for the relief efforts garnered him a 2011 VH1 Do Something Award nomination.

Brent’s company, AdVentures, acquires and invests in communications companies across the world.Through his resources, he gives companies the opportunity to expand and influence even more clients, while guiding them and bringing them into the AdVentures family. Brent is determined to create a billion dollars' worth of value by the time he is forty. He raised millions of dollars for his hometown, Joplin, MO, giving small businesses and the city of Joplin the chance to start over again. As a member of the Inc. 500 list, he is a role model for other young entrepreneurs in the city. Brent is always looking to bring talent into his co-working space, Museao, to give budding entrepreneurs the chance to focus on their ideas and projects while being surrounded by mentors. Brent is active in multiple investment groups and regional economic boards. Newly formed companies like Rockupied, Zapier and Digital Talent Agents can all attribute their success to some aspect of AdVentures' work.
