Barbara graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1976 and went to work for J.K. Lasser Tax Institute. In 1983 she moved into private practice, serving primarily small business clients while writing professional and educational materials for accountants & attorneys.
Today, Barbara is a corporate speaker, contributing editor, author of more than a dozen books from major publishers, expert media source, newsletter publisher, and a trusted advocate for small business owners.
Barbara's recognized achievements include her highly-popular "Idea of the Day®" and monthly e-newsletter, "Big Ideas for Small Business®." These online publications address the unique needs and interests of the small business community.
Barbara uses her experience and knowledge to show business owners how to sift through the complexities of the tax, legal and financial issues they face. With her books, speaking engagements, daily publications, monthly e-newsletter, blog, and frequent guest speaking engagements on radio shows, Barbara reaches small business owners and helps them grow their companies by giving them ideas and information they need to succeed now and in the future. Barbara's weekly, hour-long radio show, Build Your Business, interviews two successful small business leaders/experts each week and shares relevant and constructive information for the small business & entrepreneurial community. In conjunction with SmartPros, she presents Webcasts on current business tax issues where tax professionals earn CPE credit.
