Kellep Charles is the creator and Executive Editor of SecurityOrb.com (@SecurityOrb), an information security & privacy knowledge-based website with the mission to share and raise awareness of the motives, tools and tactics of the black-hat community, and provide best practices and counter measures against malicious events.

Kellep has appeared and made regular contributions to local media outlets such as PGCTV, WPGC 95.5 FM, Politc365.com, WPFW 89.3 and the examiner.com to discuss technology, security, and privacy matters.

Kellep works as a government contractor in the Washington, DC area as an Information Security Analyst with over 15 years of experience in the areas of incident response, computer forensics, security assessments, malware analyst and security operations.

Currently he is completing his Doctorate in Information Assurance at Capitol College with a concentration in Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Human Computer Interaction (HCI).

Kellep works with The Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) as well as Cyber Maryland to assist the state in its cyber security posture to assist business and national security plans. In addition, as a blogger for SecurityOrb.com, Information Security Magazine and other media outlets, Kellep help small businesses make educated decisions when it comes to their security plans. Kellep also educates the future security leaders to run small consulting businesses.

Kellep Charles is a professional and practitioner in the information security and privacy arena. He is also an educator, student and content contributor in the industry. Kellep speaks to hundreds of students, parents and security professional on a weekly basis through his public speaking and radio show educating them on security and information privacy best practices. This is his passion and it shows when he is helping others.
