As a poor boy growing up in Poland, Gorny cultivated an entrepreneurial spirit, organizing soccer leagues and selling aftermarket parts for vehicles. He ultimately dropped out of college and moved to the United States at the age of 20 (without speaking one word of English) in pursuit of a better life.
Gorny founded a technology company, which made him a millionaire. But his pursuit of the better life and new entrepreneurial endeavors caused him to be on the brink of bankruptcy.
Ultimately, he refocused and has founded a number of businesses, reclaiming his status as a multi-millionaire. In addition to being Co-Founder and CEO of Nextiva, he was also Co-Founder of iBoost (funded by venture capital firm SoftBank) and IPOWER, now part of Endurance International Group (NASDAQ: EIGI) where he remains a director.
