She launched Barbara’s Cookie Pies in 2011. The bakery sells what Schechter describes as a fusion between cookies and pies. While she was familiar with marketing her business, her challenge came in the form of learning about baking and and ecommerce.
Now, she says the business is doubling in size annually. She fills orders for individuals and major retailers alike. That never would have happened if she hadn’t taken that initial risk and jumped into entrepreneurship.
